В Великобритании ценные бумаги с фиксированным процентом (см.: gilt-edged security( первоклассные ценные бумаги)), выпускаемые правительством, местными органами власти или компанией с одинаковым фиксированным номиналом, часто 100 ф. ст. каждая. Часто эти бумаги имеют дату погашения (redemption date), когда их владельцам выплачивается их полная стоимость по номиналу (par value). Они обращаются на фондовых биржах, и их курс испытывает колебания, однако зависит от таких факторов, как приносимый ими доход (yield) и время, остающееся до их погашения.
